Pastoral Manager - Mrs Danson
As Pastoral Manager, I am there to offer support and advice to the families at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary school as well as signposting to relevant external agencies when needed. I will offer support through the opening of Early Helps and referrals to agencies such as CAMHS, Wigan Welfare and other external agencies to gain further support for our children and families. Within my role, I oversee and provide nurture sessions to help support and develop children’s Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH). I am also a Deputy Designated Safeguarding lead (DDSL) and liaise with the Children’s First Partnership Hub (CFPH) when required to ensure that all children are safe and happy. Attendance is also a significant part of my role. I check attendance and lates on a weekly basis and put early intervention in place, when necessary, to support children’s learning and attendance within school. I complete any Health Care Plans with parents to support children’s medical needs within school such as asthma etc. All First Aid boxes and medicines are checked and refilled as needed or new are requested from parents to ensure all medication is in date and available to use at any given time.
