Our Parish Church – St Joseph’s Church

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School has strong links with St Joseph’s Church in Leigh, which is part of the Parish of St Edmund Arrowsmith. Our church plays an important role in the spiritual life of our school community, and we work closely together to celebrate Mass, special liturgies and important moments in the Church year.

St Joseph’s Church is a historic Roman Catholic church in Leigh, Greater Manchester. It is recognised as a Grade II listed building, meaning it is an important building with special historical and architectural interest.

 

Our School and Parish Community

At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, our relationship with our parish church is very important to us. Throughout the year, we visit the church to:

  • Celebrate Holy Mass

  • Take part in special liturgies and prayer services

  • Celebrate important events in the Catholic calendar

  • Strengthen our connection with the parish community

Working closely with our parish helps our children grow in faith and understand what it means to live out the teachings of Jesus in their daily lives.

Dear Parents,

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself as your Parish Priest. I have been in Leigh for 12 years . I regularly have the opportunity to meet your children and their teachers at our School. I take this opportunity to invite each of you to join in the various activities in the Parish of St Edmund Arrowsmith , most especially our Sunday celebration of Mass. The two churches in the Parish are Sacred Heart and St Joseph’s Leigh

All that is taught in our schools, all our prayers and the assemblies led by the children and ourselves lead to the high point of our faith, the Sunday Mass. I invite you and your family to come along; everyone is welcome. I am aware that some parents are not Catholic and others may not have attended Mass for some time. With this is mind please do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to become a Catholic or renew your faith.
